Homemade Natural Antiperspirant & Deodorant Recipe UK

I have such allergic skin, as do a couple of other members of our household so we have to be particularly careful not only what we put on our skin but also with sprays and aerosols that also fly particles around the house. Deodorants and antiperspirants can be a tough one as we all wear them, but so many commercial recipes contain many, many chemicals and a lot of the DIY antiperspirants just do not do a good enough job, until I started working on a new recipe, and this recipe took a while to perfect let me tell you!

Antiperspirants and deodorants are different things but these days the words seem to be used interchangeably. An antiperspirant stops the sweat and the deodorant helps mask the sweaty odour. However this nifty little natural recipe will endeavour to help with both! It helps with the perspiration and also smells amazing, not to mention being naturally antibacterial!

Our recipe is completely natural, cheap, quick to make AND you can make it in a pot, jar or in stick form. You can even pop some in a little handbag size tin and pop in your bag for on the go use too!

Ingredients

Method

Add the coconut oil and shea butter to a double boiler or a small saucepan and melt slowly on the lowest heat.

Remove the liquid oil and butter mix from the heat and stir in the arrowroot and bicarbonate of soda, mix thoroughly.

Then add the essential oils and mix again.

Add the entire mix to a small tub or pot (about 100ml in size), you can also add this mix to an empty deodorant stick and pop in the fridge to set. Keep in the fridge or somewhere cool.

Use daily, or twice a day in very hot temperatures, but smearing a little of the deodorant mix under your arms.
